Kalyani Seeds was started as a small-scale seed producer in a village called Biur, near Rasulpur, in the hinterlands of Bankura District, West Bengal, in 2001. It was established by Chairman Shaikh Abdus Sabur and Shaikh Abdus Samad, who come from an agricultural family in Biur.

Kalyani Seeds produces high-quality paddy seeds, such as Aashirwad, Jiban-K 786, BB-11, MTU-7029, Gobind Bhog, Gopal Bhog, IET 4786, Super Shyamoli, Superfast-100, and P-Masuri. Additionally, it wholesales, retails, and supplies top-quality wheat seeds, such as HD-2967, HD-3086, PBW-154, PBW-343, and PBW-373. All seed varieties are produced and evaluated by KSF, with quality packaging customized per clients' requests.

Kalyani Seed Farms continues seed production, processing, packing, and marketing while also establishing a processing plant in Rasulpur, Bankura. The paddy processing facilities handle seeds collected from fields with high moisture levels, enabling seeds to achieve optimal moisture, enhancing their lifespan and vigor. Currently, Kalyani Seeds is involved in producing and marketing agri-inputs, including seeds for a wide range of crops, like potatoes and mustard seeds.

On August 19, 2001, the company was converted into a Pvt. Ltd. Company, receiving a fresh certificate of incorporation from the MCA, Government of India, under the name Kalyani Seeds, with CIN No: U01403WB2011PTC166566.
